I was introduced to the internet in the 2000s and i born at 1991. Specifically, i was introduced to something called an 'Internet Cafe' when we were in junior high school. Our neighbor next door invited us to go to the 'Internet Cafe'. Our first experience accessing the internet with our own gadget was in third grade, as I mentioned on the 'About' page. It was a small Nokia cellphone.
The Beginning
In the 2010s, when I finished school, I began to discover that there was something called a 'domain'. Although I previously called it a 'website', a domain is a unique address that replaces the complex string of numbers used for an IP address. This unique address is used to access a website. It consists of a domain name and an extension.
For the domain name, if you want a domain, you can check if it's still available at the Registrar. Interestingly, you also have to determine the extension. The most popular gTLD is .com, for example. Other examples of extensions are .net .co .io. An example of a domain is google.com.
The Beginnings in Domain Flipping and this Recklessness
Then we go back to the 2010s. I discovered a business called 'Domain Flipping'. At the time, I still thought it was simple. Oh, maybe I could try it and make a profit from 'Domain Flipping'. Being a no-nonsense person by nature, I started browsing domain marketplaces. There were Flippa, Namecheap, Sedo, and others.
Then I decided to try buying a domain on Flippa. It coincided with the US presidential election, with Hillary Clinton as the candidate. I found the domain 'hillaryrclinton'. I forgot the extension, but I remember it was very cheap. Stupid, did you notice? The domain had an 'R' between 'Hillary' and 'Clinton'. I thought this domain was perfect, without an 'R' in between.
That's a beginner's mistake, haha. Besides, I just wanted to experience domain transfers and usually looked for very cheap prices. You know, I even paid with PayPal. You know, I asked a third party to top up my PayPal balance, or I bought credit from a third party, so they transferred the money to my PayPal account.
After I bought the 'hillaryrclinton' domain, I still regretted it because I didn't think it was attractive, haha. Eventually, I forgot about it and didn't use it because I was still young and simple-minded. Well, at least I had the experience of buying domains sold on Flippa.
The Beginning of Blogspot
After that, I became interested in writing. I discovered Blogspot or Blogger. There, I could express my writing freely. At first, I decided what to write about, and finally, I decided to create a blog about Juventus, my favorite club, and a field I felt I could master: football, as it had been my hobby for years.
The Next Level: Buying and Registering a gTLD (generic Top-Level Domain)
After enjoying writing on Blogger, my next step was buying a domain and its extension. What I remember most is that the domain wasn't .com; I was still looking for something cheap. Then I actually bought it, and uniquely, I bought hosting with WordPress settings. Funnily enough, I was confused about setting up WordPress and ultimately had to give up and let the domain expire after a year.
Closing - Now
Finally, at 34 year olds, which seems too late for everything, but I always strive for a better future, I tried building a website again. And I felt that the current infrastructure made it easier to build a website without having to understand coding. And finally, at the end of April 2026, I built this website "gigtrusty.com."
